Service Technician

Job Description:

To service our customers underground sprinkler systems in a professional, friendly, and ethical manner.

Duties (Responsibilities) include:

  • Perform spring openings, fall closing and repair work as required
  • Determine any damaged or defective parts and complete repairs
  • Conduct studies to determine deficiencies or ineffective water flow/distribution in systems
  • Communicate with the customer regarding operation of the system as well as provide recommendations for upgrades and overhauls to existing systems
  • Program controllers
  • Communicate with the dispatcher and other office staff as regarding call completion, rescheduling work and any other issues
  • Ensuring your work vehicle is kept clean, organized, and fully stocked; perform daily checks on your work vehicle including truck logs and other paper work
  • Represent yourself and Raintree in a professional ethical manner (including wearing company uniform and personal protective equipment)
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications/Skills Needed

  • Customer Service oriented, positive attitude
  • Mechanically Inclined (plumbing/pipe fitting/electrical experience with a multimeter)
  • Good communication skills, attention to detail
  • Organized and able to manage time to meet deadlines
  • Dependable, able to work unsupervised and as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license; experience driving with a trailer an asset

Working Conditions/Requirements

  • Shifts begin at 7am Monday-Friday
  • Saturdays in peak periods (April to June and October and November)
  • Demanding (tough) weather conditions (working outside in heat, cold, rainy inclement weather)
  • Physically demanding - A lot of walking is involved, Extended periods of digging may be encountered

Crew Chief/Foreman

Job Description:

To install underground lawn sprinkler systems in a professional, safe, friendly, and ethical manner.

Reports To

Installation Supervisor

Duties (Responsibilities) include:

  • Perform spring openings, fall closing and repair work as required
  • Represent Raintree in a professional and courteous manner when interacting with customers, contractors, and fellow employees
  • Plan, implement, manage and complete installations in accordance with priorities
  • Supervise, train and provide feedback to crew members
  • Coordinate tasks, manage and delegate while working alongside crew members
  • Manage and operate machinery and equipment while adhering to H&S policies
  • Ensure vehicle and trailers are properly stocked with materials, tools and equipment and maintained daily
  • Work in a safe manner while following Raintree’s H&S policies as well as the job/site’s related safety policies
  • Create a positive attitude towards Raintree’s H&S policies and procedures
  • Uphold and promote safety policies and procedures and support enforcement
  • Clearly communicate with customers, contractors and fellow staff members while developing relationships
  • Perform openings, closings, and repair work as required
  • Other duties as required

Installation Crew Member/Labourer

Job Description:

To install underground lawn sprinkler systems in a professional, safe, friendly, and ethical manner.

Reports To

Installation Supervisor/Crew Chief/Foreman

Duties (Responsibilities) include:

  • Represent Raintree in a professional and courteous manner when interacting with customers, contractors, and fellow employees
  • Provide manual labour assistance to complete installations in accordance with priorities including digging, trenching, backfilling, raking and tamping sites to original condition or better
  • Install, connect pipe and fittings in the accepted manner
  • Following supervisor, crew chiefs/foreman instructions
  • Willing to work as a team, learn new tasks and techniques
  • Operate machinery and equipment while adhering to H&S policies
  • Ensure vehicle and trailers are properly stocked, loaded and maintained
  • Work in a safe manner while following Raintree’s H&S policies including PPE, in addition to the job/site’s related safety policies
  • Create a positive attitude towards Raintree’s H&S policies and procedures
